Yoodo: After 20 days and why I switched from Digi to Yoodo
Received my Yoodo sim early Feb 2018. Had to wait another day to port-in my old number. After successfully porting in my number, first thing first, speed test. Performed three different speed tests using three different apps on my phone.Just received my @yoodoMY. Let see... pic.twitter.com/47uUkHSL39— Vic (@victorrymk) February 1, 2018

Now, after 20 days, I only experienced a one day lag where the speed was just... slow. Other than that, everything was smooth.

Highest speed I got with Yoodo |
Compared to my previous postpaid plan highest speed, which was Digi 150 Infinite Plan, this speed is quite lacking. But, your millage may vary.
Why did I switch from Digi to Yoodo?

Digi weekends speed. |
1. Stability
Digi was just not consistent with their speed. Especially during weekends, the speed is so slow that I can't even load my Twitter feed properly. Maybe it's because of my apartment but I didn't get that problem with my previous Celcom line. To make it worst, I was on the Digi 150 Infinite Plan which cost RM150 per month excluding GST. Paying that much with unstable speed is just not worth it.

Last update 17 Feb 2018, still no coverage from Digi. |
2. Coverage
Currently, I'm based in Selangor, but my hometown is in Sabah. So, when I went back for a few weeks of holiday last year, there was no Digi coverage in my kampung. Not even a single bar. But, Maxis and Celcom had full signal bars with 4G. Digi, in town areas, no problem. But, when you go deeper, below the foot of Mount Kinabalu for example, the Yellow Man can't follow you there. And since Yoodo is using Celcom coverage, why not?
3. Cost
I'm a heavy user. That's why before this, I chose Digi 150 Infinite. Before that, I was using Webe unlimited plan. And with Webe, I also experienced the same 1st and 2nd problems I mentioned above plus no tehthering (unless you pay for it). So, a postpaid plan of RM150, with an unstable speed and limited coverage, I just need to find a new plan. And Yoodo happens to solve that, for now.
Some may say, "why don't you just use Unifi Broadband?" I did apply for it but the ports here in my apartment are currently full. So wireless broadbands are the only option I have.
But....
It's still too early to give a definite verdict on my Yoodo experience. It's just been 20 days. Will I recommend it? Yes, for now.
